Question:

Actally both the inside of the faucet handle and the top of the threaded spindle{where it meets the handle] are stripped.I have put teflon tape there which seems to hold ,for now.Short of replacing the entire valve and handle,do you know of any quick/permanent fixes?

Answer:

You might try a liquid washer but be prepared that afterward, if you have any problems at all with the tap set, it will mean replacing it because that stuff just doesn't let go.
