Question:

As a follow-up to my phone call to you last Saturday, what kind of ventilation system would you recommend as being necessary to resolve the severe problem we are experiencing with humidity in our garage? For example, mold is starting to appear around the doors and windows and rusty nail marks are starting to show through the paint. Here is a re-cap of our conversation: Garage 24' x 28', built in 1998 Garage door (8' x 16', garage - R16.5) and doors are well insulated

Answer:

I'd probably install a separate ventilation system that operated from a humidistat. It can also be married to the suspended heater's thermostat at the same time so you don't waste a whole lot of energy.
