Our existing mantel is sagging and I would like to remove and reinstall it. From the top view I can see five screws holding the mantel up. How do I get to these screws? There are no visible screw holes in the mantel. Is there a way for me to remove the mantel without destroying it and the wall?
Answer:
There has to be something in front of the screws because there is no way of installing screws without access to them. Once you've found that, you'll be able to remove it without damaging anything.
