Question:

I have aluminum siding on my house. Does PT affect alluminum? Should I remove the siding first before securing the PT to the house? Do I need flashing to cover the PT to prevent water problems?

Answer:

I'd be reluctant to bolt anything to the siding because it will only colapse and that is not what you want. As to removing it, I think I'd rather design some form of support that would bolt to the foundation and then step up to support the deck.
