Question:

My wife and I just ordered some 80 year old reclaimed antique pine T&G flooring for our main hallway and dining area. We have been instructed to use 3 coats of Tung oil and then 3 coats of polyurethane. Would you agree with this finish coating. I have heard that Tung Oil alone would be appropriate since it is absorbed and it won't chip.

I've never used the two in combination - never felt the need to do so.
