Question:

We have a century brick home in Carleton Place Ontario. We have pine plank floors in the living room and dinning room. We had them refinished about a month ago. We are finding that they scratch very easily. It took our dog about 5 minutes. Some companies say they have a finish that can be put onto floors to give them a hard finish. Is there anything available for pine floors?

Answer:

Pine is a softwood and it shows abuse quicker than any other kind of wood floor that I can think of. About the only finish your dog won't scratch is carpet and you even have to be careful with some fabrics there.
