Question:

I want to install new flooring on main level of our 2 story. We do not like vinyl flooring and want hardwood throughout including kitchen. What's your opinion on hardwood in kitchen? What about new laminate flooring, what are the cons to it? We thought ceramic was too hard and slippery in the kitchen for the kids. What are my options? I began listening to it when i lived in Ottawa in early 90's, but then I moved to Nfld and lost touch with it, but I moved to Halifax 2 years ago and what a surprise there you were.

Answer:

We have hardwood in the kitchen and my wife things its great. I don't know that I'd be willing to put down anything but hardwood or sheet vinyl though until the product in question has been serving someone else's family for three or four years. So far, I have not seen anything on the market that I'd be interested in.
