We have limoleum flooring in our kitchen. Six and half years ago, the section of flooring in front on the sliding doors, we noticed a few very small dots that were a dark brown color. We tried to remove them with a cleaning chemical but it seemed the dots were in the linoleum. Over time the dots have increased in quantity and have spread out.

About the only thing that will correct this is a utility knife. Your vinyl flooring is an oil based product and after it's been exposed to the sun for extended periods, it starts to give up that oil. This shows up as brown spots and then whole areas discolouring.
