Question:

They bought a house near Edmonton, Alberta which someone went crazy with some sort of speckled (black & white) paint on everything, from doorknobs to kitchen counter tops. If they try to roll pastry etc. the black specks come off! I heard part of a conversation you had on radio (NTR-Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) regarding a good product (other than melamine paint) for counters, but can't remember what it was called? Love your show & I'm telling everyone about it!

Answer:

All the specks will wash off with a catalytic lacquer thinner. You might also take a closer look at the products you'll find at some of the bio-degradable products that are a rather recent arrival to the market.
