Question:
I'm replacing a linolium floor and putting tile in its place. When I took up the lenolium, there was some sort of white backing that was left on the floor. It's perfectly smooth and with some heavy scraping, it reveals that it's a thin layer. My question is, can I just lay the tile over this layer or should I remove it?
Answer:
Good try! No, you cannot because it will disintegrate when the tile adhesive actis on it.
