Question:

i purchased new home and paid for prefinished harwood floor but when I went for inspection there was construction mess every where on the floor including dust many hammer marks, paint dropings and scraches, the builder wants to replace damage pises by gluing it down, I have appointment with warranty program by end of august to present my case, please advise me what to do beacause i fill by gluing it down because of different sises they have to cut pieses which leave sharp un finished adges plus they are higher then other pices and ifeel that eventualy they might come off.

Answer:

You'll need to hire a wood flooring inspector to write a report on what's there and to recommend whether it can be just patched or perhaps replaced. Patching in cases like this doesn't usually do credit to the wood floor.
