Expert Q
Question:
I have cermaic tile in th foyer, through the living room (about an 8 foot wide path) and into the kitchen. The tile is on a concrete or floated base, which is about two inches higher than the living room floor. Since the tiles are cracked and chipped I want to cover the tiles. Can I fill in grout and have a vinyl flooring installed, if not, what are my alternatives.
Answer:
As it should have been done in the very beginning, all flooring and underlayments have to be removed down to the original sub-flooring and then you can lay in new underlayment with your vinyl (or whatever else you want) on top of it.
