I am considering redoing our 11 year old linoleum kitchen floor. I've heard laminate flooring is ideal for this use as it is heat resistant, scratch resistant, very low maintenance and is available in a variety of colours and patterns. What is your opinion, advantages and disadvantages of this flooring material? Can it be placed on top of the existing linoleum that is sound and intact?
Answer:
Like most other new products on the market, it is said to walk on water but doesn't always quite make it. I cannot see it being placed directly over old flooring but once properly installed, I have heard the same things you're saying so its certainly worth a try.
