Question:

I have insulated my 24 x14 with 10ft high ceiling with insulation batting and a plastic sheating barrier over all walls.I put strapping on the roof trusses and insulated the ceiling as well. There are no windows, one side door and my garage door is insulated. I have installed three vents on the roof. I now realize that what I have is basically an enclosed box with no ventilation or air. I have a construction heater in there and plan to work inside this winter. What am I required to do to provide for adequate air circulation to prevent seasonal problems as well as safety issues.

Answer:

You'll need something to get rid of fumes so an exhaust fan will look after part of your problem. If you don't want to put in a window, you might have to install a louvered vent int he wall somewhere. This can be controlled so you don't get the wind blowing through. The exhaust fan will still be needed.
