Question:

I like to live with the windows and doors open most of the time. Last few days we have had to close things up at night/evening as its getting colder. Since then, we have both developed mild dizziness. Thinking it might be a gas leak and remembering the problem we had with our furnace, I called the supplier this a.m. who told me to get out of the house and wait for the fire dept and the technician. They could not find any gas leak but suggested that the problem might be air quality. Ours is a very tight 80 year old home with new mechanical and electrical systems. Suggestion from one fire guy was to consider an air handling system that would far more effectively change the air in the house. I'm wondering if: the transition from outside to inside living could be the problem and, would the air handling system help if.

Answer:

You've taken the right steps so far and I'm going to suggest you take one more. Both of you should see your doctor. We spend a lot of time both inside and out and if you're experiencing something as serious as dizziness, it has to be traced to something.
