Question:

Hello Omar,
What is your opinion on the use of Maple as kitchen cabinets - is it a soft/less durable wood? I just wanted to try something different from Oak.
Thanks,
Stephanie

Answer:

Hi Stephanie,

I would suggest going with anything but oak, you can use maple, birch, white birch, knotty pine or cherry. Maple is a fairly strong wood and is much more appealing thank oak. For a price point advantage you might want to consider birch, it is a beautiful wood with very subtle grains and is cheaper than maple.

Oak is slowly fading out and the more exotic woods are what buyers are looking for in a new home.

Sincerely,

Omar Jabara
