Question:
I'm presently roofing a 10 x 18 yard shed w/a mansard-style roof. I'm having a problem with attaching the shingles over the angle where the "top" (less slanted) roof deck meets the lower (steeper) roof...the shingles are difficult to bend over the angle (it doesn't help that it's about 45 degrees and I'm using architectural-style shingles) and I'm not sure how to nail them so the nails don't show. Any suggestions?

Answer:
Hello,
A transition flashing must be installed. This flashing is similar to an eave starter flashing. The flashing is installed over the top row of mansard wall shingles and under the first row of shingles on the top roof. This flashing can be bought at a metal or flashing fabrication shop. This is your only option.
Good Luck,
