Question:

I just had my roof re-shingled in the fall and all mushroom vents replaced. I also added some. My attached garage(uninsulated) had none. So put five vents in(2 car). I am noticing snow in my garage enough to worry me that the rest of the house has snow on top of the insulation. How do I stop this? The vents are just the standard plastic vent that you pick up at any lumber yard. It is stange to brush off the car IN the garage.

Hello, I think the number of vents is causing a cross draft or negative pressure and sucking in the snow. Also, the vents must all be on one side of the roof to prevent cross draft. Matt Churchill CP Roofing & Sheet Metal of Ottawa Ltd. 613-821-4455
