Question:
Hello
The contractor I hired to re-roof my house--lots of problems-- agreed, after he sent out someone to inspect the job, that the roof had to be redone. This was great news.
New shingles, vents, roofing paper etc. were delivered to my roof--great.
My concern is that these materials have been sitting on the roof for 8 days now and will be there until at least Tuesday--another 3 days.
Should this additional weight on the roof be of concern to me? Can it affect the roof structure and its integrity? Should I be looking for symptoms of potential problems?
Thank you,
Cheryl Gaetz
Answer:
Hello Cheryl
Sorry for the delay in my response.
There should not be any problems with regards the integrity of your roof trusts as long as the shingles are distributed evenly on the roof. Roof trusts are designed to withhold increasing amounts of weight during the winter months.
