Question:
We are looking for high-end asphalt shingles for a large conical-shaped roof. But all shingles we've seen come in flat sheets, not suited to wrap around a conical shaped roof. What are the techniques used to apply asphalt shingles for this type of roof? Or must we only consider "individual shingles" such as cedar shakes?
Thank you.
Answer:
Hello,
Individual shingles such as metal or cedar shakes are best. As you said, the asphalt shingles are all flat sheets approximately 3' in length and do not match the contour of a cone. The smaller the shingle the better.
