Question:
Hello.
I have purchased a home from the early 1940s. The building inspector who reviewed the home told me that the wood soffit is not vented enough. there are currently sloted vents but maybe 3 a side. I would perfer to get the work done in the least expensive manner which I have been told would be to conver the soffit to a continous vented vinyl soffit. I dont really know costs I assume you would have to come to the site to quote. Which approach do you suggest to take and do you work in the east end of downtown ottawa. near McArther blvd.
thank you
Chris Lyons
P.S
we currently dont have a phone as we just moved in June 1st but I can call you from work if you let me know when is the best time to call, or just send me an email back and I will update you with a home number is installed by bell.
Answer:
Unfortunately, there is only one method and that is to remove the existing wood soffit, insert Styrofoam baffles between trusts and install new aluminum soffit and fascia. We would be pleased to provide you with a written estimate.
