bought house private sale last July,,possession date 03 May this year..Since purchase date the owner has let everything slide... well pipes froze, septic bed seems to have a problem(big wet spot in snow) lawyer has sent letter to their lawyer..fix it up and maintain it.....he says no problem, they fix it. we wont pay unitl it is fixed or we dont buy.... (its a good deal and it has enormous potential for me so i dont want to lose it unless it becomes a money pit before I own it) any extra info to settle my mind??? thx

Sounds like you want to maintain a close relationship with your lawyer until the closing or thereafter. We suggest that at this point in time you'll get the best advise from him/her.
