Question:

We have a four season solarium. It was built in 1986. It is 22x12 red cedar with its own furnace, airconditioner, a beautiful room. The windows are failing and there are 70@average $500 each. What value does the room add to the resale value of our home> We don't know what to do. Very costly and is it worth it to maintain it. Thanks

Answer:

Interesting Q.

I would have to really like to see the property before I made a meaningful comment on this situation.

If it's a great solarium it may add significant value if it needs $35,000 worth of windows then we would have to carefully review the market value and take into account the repairs.

I would definately be speaking to more than one or two window people.

Regards
