Question:
I have a several windows in my home covered by roller blinds. Some the more expensive custom blinds, others the cheaper ones. One thing I've noticed about them all, the outside edges tend to curl inward, away from the window frame. This lets the light shine in through the gap between the window frame and the blind. The blinds are mounted on the outside of the frame. How can I fix and/or prevent this problem?
Thank you,
Carlos
Answer:
Hi, Carlos
There are three things that could be wrong with the roller blinds.
1) There could be condensation from your windows which is getting in between the laminate and the vinyl and thus causing the vinyl to curl.
2) The roller shade might not be level therefore causing the vinyl to railroad ie. rolling crooked.
3) There could be a manufacturers defect on the higher quality shades. If the shades aren't a 4 ply vinyl than this is your problem ( 4 ply is made of 1 ply fibreglass and 3 ply virgin vinyl) . These shades are warrantied against curling on the sides.
If your roller shades are a 4 ply vinyl shade than you should get in touch with the company who sold them to you. If they are unwilling to help you out than get in touch with us and maybe we can help you out.
