Question:

Our bathroom vent is no longer working. I need to know how difficult it is to replace it. I checked it out and the only information I can give you is that it is from Air King and measures about 8"x8"

Answer:

A small point on terminology. Vents in bathrooms typically refer to a part of the drain pipes that allows air access to the drains and allows them to work properly. I believe your question deals with the exhaust fan that removes air from the bathroom. Builder supply stores have a good selection of exhaust fans that can replace your existing fan. A typical bathroom can use a 90 or 100 CFM fan and the ducting should take the bathroom air to the outside; not into the attic of the house. It is not a hard job to replace but unless you have renovation type experience I recommend hiring someone to put it in. Inappropriate duct work can lead to problems.
