Question:

HELP SHOULD I ATEMPT TO REMOVE MOLD OR IS THIS INDICATION THAT THE WALL ITSELF BEHIND TILES NEEDS REMOVAL? help. and Thanks, Carmen M., New Jersey

Answer:

Carmen M., New Jersey If the mold is heavy and penetrating the grout it is a safe bet the backer board is also affected. Cleaning and removing the mold will be a losing battle; things will look good for a while but the black will return quickly. Remove and start new is my advice. Also look at the ventilation in your bathroom and make sure it is adequate. Good ventilation will help to reduce the reoccurence of mold in the future. Bob Bathrooms First www.bathroomsfirst.ca
