I can't seem to find a company in Ottawa that will paint a fibeglass tub. I have seen a product in the stores call "Rustoleum" that has a paint for tubs but I'm abit nervous to try it. Do you know of anyone that will paint a fiberglass tub? Have you ever tried the Rustoleum product?

I have not used the rustoleum product but I suspect it is for a cast iron or steel tub and not fiberglass. The "paint" on a fiberglass tub is actually called gelcoat and is applied as a first step in the manufacturing process. You can repair small damaged areas of the gelcoat but I have not heard of anyone redoing the entire tub. I am also wondering if your tub is really fiberglass or possibly acrylic. Acrylic tubs are an entirely different issue. The acrylic surface can be repolished to give a dramatically improved surface. There are acrylic specialist who can assist you in refinishing your tub if it is acrylic. To determine if your tub is acrylic or fiberglass look for the name of the manufacturer and then attempt to find the model name either on line or from a retailer of that brand of tub.
