Question:

I am having tile installed in a basement wine-cellar and bathroom. My previous contractor in New Brunswick always used kerapoxy for grout, claiming it had far superior resistance to staining, with no need for re-sealing every few years. I have been very happy with the results. My contractor here in Ottawa is not experienced with Kerapoxy type grouts and is telling me that its not necessary, the silicone keeps standard grout from staining. Could you advise me of your experience with epoxy style grouts and your recommendation. Thanks, Lee

Answer:

Hello Lee, I would also suggest the use of an epoxy grout in your case. It is far more resistant to staining, which is an added value as your will be using it in a wine-cellar. Regards, Janik Lemery Astro Design Centre
