Question:

Dear Gerry,
I have a very expensive drapery on one of my windows.
I noticed that the coulor on it start to change from the sunny side of the window.
Is there any way to stop that from happening.

Thank you
Ahmed

Answer:

Dear Ahmed,

Is your drapery lined on the window side with a plain coloured lining? It is usually white or off-white and is something that is used to protect your curtains from sun damage and to provide extra body to the drapery fabric. If your drapery is unlined I would definitely advise you to have your drapery lined. If it is lined and you are still experiencing some fading I would suggest that you get a solar blind. In other words a roller shade that would fit in your window and provide you with uv protection for your draperies. Good luck.

Thank you for your question,
Gerry
