Question:

Hi
I have a difficulty sleeping with light in the room, and I would like to black out my bedroom windows. (Or as close as I can)

I have 2 problems tho.
1. The budget is tight.
2. My wife insists that it has to look good :)

Can you suggest any inexpensive, and visualy apealing solutions?

Answer:

Hi,

The least expensive and most practical solution to creating a black-out effect are roller shades. I know you are thinking, "but my wife said visually appealing", however roller shades have come along way in the last few years as far as fabric selection and the quality of the mechanisms. Often we use a roller shade for light control and add more decorative drapery side panels as the budget permits.
Another more expensive solution would be to utilize a blackout cellular shade. They come in a multitude of soft look fabrics, and do a great job in blocking out the light.
Check out our website for links to manufacturers such as Silent Gliss who specialize in roller shade systems.
