Thanks
Answer:
Sorry for the delay
What if the H2S in the ground water
1. Install an activated carbon filter. Effective for low H2S
( Hydrogen sulphide .. rotten egg smell )usually less than 1 mg/L (1PPM). The gas is trapped inside by the carbon untill the filter is saturated.
2. Install the oxidizing filter , such as " manganess greensand" filter. This option is effective for H2S levels up to 6 mg/L
Manganese greensand filter is also used to treat iron problems in the water. Manganese sand is a sand coated with a manganese dioxide.
The hydrogen sulphide gas in the water is changed to tiny particles of sulfur as it passes through filter.
3. Install an oxidization- filteration system. This option effective for H2S levels up to and exceeding 6 mg/L. This system utilize a chemical feed pump to inject an oxidizing chemical, such as chlorine, in to the water -supply line prior to a storage or mixing tank. When sufficient contact time is allowed, the oxidizing chemical changes the H2S to sulfur, which is then removed to a particulate filter such as a manganese green sand filter. Excess chlorination can be removed by activated carbon filteration.
