Question:
When I moved into our house, the humidifier on the furnace had a thermostat with no label. To facilitate the task of setting it, I bought a new one and proceeded to replace it. It seemed simple, two wires. Since replacing it, I've had no luck to get the humidifier to work. I bought the thermostat at a local store and tried alternating the wires but it still won't work. When I reinstall the old one, the humidifier will work. Any suggestions ?
Answer:
If you bought a humidistat and it won't work maybe it is defective. If you bought a thermostat instead of a humidistat, a thermostat will not control the humidifier.
