Question:
I installed a high efficiency oil furnace seven years ago and had the company install the oil tank outside instead of in my basement. Should I be worried about water in the tank, either from the fuel itself or sweating on the inside of the tank? If there is accumulated water in the tank, how do I get rid of it so that my tank does not eventually rust through?
Thanks,
Scott Murchison Carp
Answer:
Condensation might be an issue if the tank was installed incorrectly. Your oil provider can inspect the tank to see if it was installed to the outdoor installation code.
