Question:
We have just put in a new furnace @ heat pump, in order to do this We has to put new duct work thru the downstairs living room up to the bedrooms as we had no heating vents upstairs. Do we insulate around the new duct work, and how far from the duct work do we have to put our dry wall?
Answer:
You do not have to put insulation around the ducts unless it is in an unheated space(such as an attic). For the drywall, a 1 inch space is adequate.
