Question:
Hi Don. Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. We are in the middle of renovating our basement. The drainage line from the furnace heads a pvc pipe that leads down in to our foundation. We plan to use the area for a room in the basement so we want to move the drainage hole. I guess my question is... What do I do? Does this pipe lead only in to the gravel under the foundation or is it hooked to sewer? More importantly, can I drill another hole in the foundation closer to the furnace in which I can have these hoses drain into... (And how do I plug the old one?) Thanks for your help :)
Answer:
Holes are no longer allowed to be drilled in to foundations (Todays Code)You can use a condensate pump to move the water to a main drain and fill up the previous hole with concrete.
