Question:
Hi Iman,
Do you know the minimum distance required between the side or back of a gas furnace (i.e. not service door) and the nearest partition wall? Does this change if the wall is metal vs. wood framing? This is a basement reno in a 1963 Minto bungalow.
Thanks,
Sean
Answer:
Hi,
You should have two feet clearance around the three sides of the furnace except for the front of the furnace it needs at least 3 feet for servicing. The type of wall metal or wood framing is of no consequence.
thanks
