Question:

Hi Iman, I had our central air conditioning unit checked last year because on the hot days we get very little cooling. The technician who the check found that the compressor was not efficient. We have a new baby at home and feel the need to fix this. My question is: what sorts of things do I need to consider when deciding whether to fix the compressor issue vs. purchasing a new air con unit and what sort of things to verify with respect to the furnace with a new unit. Thanks, Rob

Answer:

This is a huge question. There are a lot of items to consider. 1. Age of units both furnace and AC 2. Size of home 3. Length of time you are going to spend in the home. 4. The technical stabiltiy of both units 5. The best thing is to have a professional come to your home investigate the situation and come up with reccomendations that will be suited to your situation.
