Question:
New home installation with HRV... first time user. Ducting was getting a lot of ice freezing inside the plastic ducting where it enters the HRV. I shut it off an poked some small holes in the plastic to drain the water as it thawed. Water was also regularly not draining through the hole in the cement floor in the basement &.backing up the drain tube. Recommendations?
Answer:
Your HRV needs to be looked at, the unit may not be installed properly.
The drain tube and or the hole may be plugged. The technician can check that when he is looking at the HRV.
