Question:

Hi ... I recently purchased a small hot tup at the Home Show here in Ottawa. I was originally thinking of placing it up on a deck about 2' off the ground. Is/are there any reasons why I couldn't move it out into the garden and enjoy the peaceful view from a platform set right on the grade? Thanks ... Ron

Answer:

Ron Congratulations, you must be very excited! There is no reason why you shouldn't enjoy the view, that is a very important element in full enjoyment of your tub. Some manufacturers require a solid platform or a concrete base to support the structure of the tub, check to see if your tub has I- beam support. The most important thing with regard to your base is that it level. We also often as a rule of thumb recommend that you keep your hot tub within 15 feet of your access to the house, otherwise you will have a long path to shovel in the winter. Maybe you love shovelling snow, but if not make sure you don't create too much work for yourself in the winter (it's my favourite tubbing season). Your life is about to change, Enjoy!
