Question:
My wife and I are considering buying a hot tub. How do you decide between so many models. I know the motors have alot to do with price. We are looking for a 4-6 person with at least one lay down seat and as many jets as possible. Also we have a deck already, so who looks after installing into our current deck while not ruining the structure? Have a nice Sunday. Kevin Coady
Answer:
Hi Kevin,
As you well know buying a hot tub is an investment that most give great consideration, you are only going to buy a hot tub once.
We are commonly asked about horsepower and maximum amount of jets. In actuality you want continuous horsepower (engineered for appropriate power in relation to the size of tub while providing a deep massage without wasting energy). The “hush pump” option is available in addition to the main pump. This pump is low horse powered circulating pump which circulates and filters the water 24 hours a day (when not in use) and draws very little power. With regard to jetting, the massage and therapeutic benefits to individual jets are more important than the number of jets. In particular, you won’t be satisfied with many jets if they are only directional (pushing water straight on in one direction). As important, make sure that the tub you select has all active seats, this means every jet (including foot massage) has the ability to run simultaneously in every seat. When selecting a lounger keep in mind you will lose some seating and the lounge shouldn’t recline too far or you will float out of it without weights. Another option to consider is a “swing seat” which allows for the bather to swing their feet up when less people are in the tub and swing their feet to the footwell when hosting friends.
As for your existing deck; usually the location of the hot tub is ready for install. There are many options with regard to deck installs ( I’d need more info about your deck and needs),at the Artistic Group we are here for guidance or hands on help but we always place the hot tub and perform a wet start at time of delivery.
Overall for long term enjoyment, satisfaction and benefit pursue comfort, quality, integrity, history, and energy efficiency. One thing for sure is that it will be the best thing you’ve ever bought and it will change your life.
