Question:

Can you give me an idea of the cost of heating a hot tub (5-6 people size) during the winter months.

Answer:

Great Question, people are often concerned about the winter costs but in actuality if you select an energy efficient tub you will barely notice a difference and the minimal costs will far out way the benefits that will improve your health, relationships and well being.

Beachcomber Hot Tubs are famous for their energy efficiency and have been building tubs for 26 years. Beachcomber has the option of the pattented Protec system. This option is engineered with the pumps and mechanics under a step, allowing for all four walls to be insulated, less sound and vibration inside the tub, large footwell, and easy access to the equipment.

The “hush pump” option is also available in addition to the main pump. This pump is low horse powered circulating pump which circulates and filters the water 24 hours a day (when not in use) and draws very little power.

The only expense you will notice with a fully insulated tub is the initial heating of the water and maintaining the heat after heavy use in the winter.

We have documented proof of a larger tub than you are asking about drawing 70 cents a day during the winter months.

Generally you will hear heating costs of $1 a day although it's best to see utility bills. I have heard of some hot tubs costing close to $100 a month to run. Obviously they are running theirs seasonally.

Beachcomber hot tub owners constantly tell us they barely notice a difference in their bills. One thing for sure is that winter is one of the best hot tub seasons (it's my favourite) and your hot tub will change your life.
