Question:

Hi Kerri,

I am currently interested in purchasing a spa. Based on Hydropool's models, I wondering what are the pros & cons regarding hot tubs, and swim spas. In the Ottawa area, what are ranging prices for these spas? How do I know if I’m getting my money's worth? Is there any visual data, such as charts, or graphs that illustrates prominent details (regarding performance, health, and price) between the two? If so, where could I possibly find this info?

Thank you very much!

Justin

Answer:

Hot Tubs and swim spas are two very different products. One benefits the health with massage, warm water, relaxation and reconnecting by conversation with family and friends. The other benefits the health through exercise (better not to exercise in too hot of water). You are basically deciding between hot tub or a pool and the prices are reflective and quite similar to a four season hot tub versus an inground pool. My rule of thumb (if you can’t have both): Hot tub before pool and pool before cottage. There are many independent sites providing visual data, charts and graphs such as the National Spa and Pool Institute (NSPI). We collect similar info at our locations.

Thanks for your time; if we can assist you any further don’t hesitate to call us at the Award Winning Artistic Group, Beachcomber Hot Tubs at 2739 Carp rd 831-5559 or Place D’Orleans shopping Centre 837-5567.
