Question:

Hello, I just purchased a condo, and the living room has a mirrored wall (the mirrors cover the whole expanse of the wall). I don't want to remove the mirrors since they make the room look bigger, but I am trying to find a stylish and easy way to decorate them. I read somewhere that it was possible to build a faux fireplace out of cardboxes(or some similar material). Could you please tell me how to do that? Would the construction be sturdy enough to hold some flowers and picture frames? Is it possible to secure the faux fireplace to the mirror? Thank you very much for your help. Sally Note: My walls are carpeted.

Answer:

Hi Sally This is not a popular request but I'll give you some tips. You can design a fake fireplace and apply it to the mirrors. Just take a wood mantle standard size and silicone it to the mirrors for support, then take a picture of a fire and have it enlarged by a photo shop to be places inside the opening to the mantle interior. You can also build yourself a hearth in front with some tile attached to wood board that is removable. This might suite your needs to make the room more atractive and warm looking. Thanks for asking Brian Trombley Factory Fireplaces Inc.
