Question:
We have a sugar maple tree that is well placed to provide shade to one side of the house where there are 2 windows. We are wondering however if the roots of the sugar maple, over time as they grow, will affect the foundation. The tree is approximately 20 feet from the foundation of our bungalow and it is approx. 15 feet tall and roughly 10 years old. The soil it is growing in is fertile and well compacted (Richmond area). We would appreciate your feedback on this. We love our tree. Thank you.

Just keep the tree pruned to the height you are at, do not let it get any bigger, as you are close to the house, thank you for your
