Question:

We have small building which is the entrance to the basement, sitting on a foundation. The foundation of the house, where it meets with that building, has cracked from one side down to the concrete floor up the other side. How can I repair that. Do I do it after I have dug around and cleaned it good, with fiberglass?

Answer:

From what I can tell this is a frost heave problem, I would consult a foundation repair contractor before you make any attempt to repair something. The reason being is that you want to repair the problem, but what is the cause As well as repairing the problem, one must repair the cause, and that is ussually best determined by a soils enginneer, or foundation repair contractor. If you have any further questions please get back to me, thank you. Patrick LeCours Mr. Foundation
