I can't really comment on any specific brand, but suffice to say that UV protection has alot to do with the time that organisms are exposed to the light. UV lights should be designed and placed such that maximum exposure to the light is afforded the target air stream, and therefore the organisms within that air stream. This is accomplished by a combination of design of the unit and installation placement. A general rule of thunmb though, is that box stores do not ussually sell the same level of quality as specialized contractors
