Question:

I was wondering what would be the best method to attach a PT 4x4 to the corner of home. Which is covered with vinyl siding. The reason for this endeavor is put up a small 3.5 ft fence between the 6x6 post on corner of my deck and the corner on my home. This is all at ground level. I want block out the noise from A/C compressor which sits around the corner and provide some enclose for the concrete patio. I thought about installing center pin for the base of the 4x4 and drive two lag bolts (5" or 6") into the corner of my home and sealing the area with a caulking agent

Answer:

You idea of laging to the house is fine but use 3- 7"x 1/2" lag bolts. the other way is a 8" diameter by 4' footing of cement with the post inside of it. Bruce, Ashbury Landscaping & Consulting. 613-739-4204
