Question:
Hi Tony,
Making a 4 ft. high wall around a stairwell that leads to a basement. It will be "L" shaped, the short end will be about 3-4 ft. long and attached to an existing interior wall. The long end will be about 10 ft. and free standing. It will have some form of posts or newels, (mostly for decor) attached atop the partition wall and to the ceiling. What is the best way to anchor the wall for stability?

Hello
The best way to anchor the wall is to use some sort of mechanical fasting of the bottom plate to the basement floor such as a Ramset.
