Question:

Hi, I have a second question. I looked behind our drywall (on an exterior wall). There is insulation but no vapour barrier. The house was built in about 1972. The insulation has a thick brown and black paper on the interior side (the black is next to the insulation). Should we remove the insulation and put in new insulation and a vapour barrier? Mike

Answer:

Hello there Mike The paper acts as the vapour barrier. There is no need to replace the existing insulation and install a new vapour barrier. Thanks
