Question:

Hi Marc, Just a quick question for you. Im looking to buy my first home and would like to know for the foudation what is the best option to insulate the floor. I know the walls will be insulated by the contractor but not the floor. I am planing to finish the basement maybe the second year in the house so should i do anything with the floor now befor construction begins or do it later?? Serge

Answer:

Serge, The best way to insulate your floor is to install a 2" foam prior to pour the floor. The foam can be a type II expanded polystyrene. We could provide you with a price for the foam if you are interested. Please call at 613-835-2600 Regards, Marc Philippe EMM Group 2743 Dunning Rd.
